1 Background: My name is Sherif Hazem. I work for Central Department for WTO, Ministry of Foreign trade and Industry, as the Head of IPR Department. Academic Experience: Master of Business Administration, Maastrciht School of Management, Currently working on the course thesis. Bachelor of Law, Cairo University, currently studying grade four. Bachelor of Arts, Major Economics, The American University in Cairo (AUC), June Name: Sherif Hazem

2 Relevant Experience  Participated In preparing Egypt’s Negotiations positions in different fields of the World Trade Organization (WTO) package.  Participated in trade negotiations under the auspices of the WTO, The Arab League, the Euro- Med Forum and with the EFTA group.  Participated in a public awareness campaign about the WTO agreements and Negotiations.  Participated in issuing Brochures, newspapers and specialized magazines articles concerning international foreign trade affairs.  Analyzed the impact of trade negotiations developments on Egyptian economic interests.  Prepared legal researches on the WTO TRIPS agreement, World Intellectual Property Rights Organization (WIPO) treaties, the new Egyptian Intellectual Property Rights Code no 82 for the year 2002 and its compliance with the former agreements and treaties.

3 Relevant Experience (Cont.)  Prepared researchers on the relationship between intellectual property rights issues and the rest of the WTO package such as Trade and Environment, E-Commerce, Trade in Services and Trade in Agricultural products.  Participated in preparing the agenda of issues as well as the supporting documents for the Subsidiary National Committee for intellectual property rights, the Subsidiary National Committee for Rules of Origin and the Subsidiary National Committee for Trade in Services.  Coordinated with relevant authorities in Egypt as well as the American Embassy in Cairo in various fields of foreign trade.  Attended an International Trade Policy Making Study Tour in Washington D.C., the U.S. from May – June 2001 (Training included visits to the World Bank. the International Monetary Fund, the U.S. Trade Representation, law firms, NGO’s, and the U.S. Departments of Agriculture, Trade, and Communications).
