Showcase your speaking talents in the 2015 Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. Oratorical Competition Theme: “The High Road of Peace & Brotherhood” Compete to be your school’s representative for the 2015 Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. Oratorical Program. Grand Sweepstakes Champions 2014 Congratulations to the Parkside Middle School Concert/Show Choir directed by Debbie Schlechte. These talented eighth graders were the winners of the entire Busch Gardens Showcase Festivals for A Grand Champion is named each day of the festival throughout the spring. All of the Parkside groups placed first and received a Superior rating in their category. The Parkside Show/Choir was named the Grand Champion on May 17 with a score of 198 out of a possible 200 total points. At the end of the entire competition there were 16 Grand Champion winners and Parkside had the highest total score of all the daily winners, making them the Grand Sweepstakes Champions. This is the 4th time in 11 years that Parkside has won this prestigious award. The new trophy is on display in the trophy case at the front of the school.
