England By Isabella Tosini Scarpitta and Hye-Su Chung 702

When did the group of people immigrate to the United States? Why?  They immigrated because in England there were no more jobs so all of the people immigrated to the United States. People immigrated around the 1800s and mostly around the 1600s.

Where did this group of people mainly settle in the United States?  They settled in Roanoke or '‘The Lost Colony” and Jamestown (founded in 1607 by the Virginia Company.)

What was England’s life like when they got to the U.S.? (Were there laws or prejudices against them?)  When the English first came to the US, life was hard because they didn’t know what crops to grow and didn’t know anything about the Native Americans. There were no laws or prejudices against them.

How did this group influence American music, food, clothing, language, or holidays?  Music: The Rolling Stones, The Beatles, Coldplay and Queen.  Food: Tea, Crumpets, Fish and Chips

 Language: English  Holidays: Halloween, Christmas  Clothing: The people in England wear modern clothing, jeans, t-shirts, and for business, they wear suits if required. Also for weddings.
