Plan on getting an education? What are you planning to do this afternoon? This weekend? This summer?

You can earn a MILLION bucks.

Does it matter what classes I take in middle school? Yes! You can earn high school credits while in middle school. Taking some classes in middle school will allow you to take upper level classes sooner. Get started early by taking  Speech  Language other than English  Algebra I

Preparation for higher education Take challenging classes Develop good study habits Read, read, read, read Visit a college campus Talk to people that attend or attended college Ask questions and use resources

Preparation for higher education There are two high school graduation plans that prepare students for college.  Recommended High School Program (RHSP)  A 24-credit, college-preparatory curriculum that helps ensure that all Texas high school students take advanced mathematics and science courses  The Distinguished Achievement Program (DAP)  The state’s advanced high school graduation plan

Having fun can count, too! Extracurricular activities are ways to learn outside the classroom. Teens can:  Mentor a younger student  Engage in community service by volunteering  Explore possible careers and majors for the future

Who goes to college? People like you! More than a million people from different backgrounds are enrolled in Texas colleges.

How will I pay for college? Financial aid can assist persons from any background pay for college. It doesn’t matter if you are:  Poor or rich  Male or female  The first in your family to attend college There is a type of financial aid for everyone.

Types of financial aid:  Scholarships  Grants  Work study / employment opportunities  Loans There is a type of financial aid for everyone.
