A look back 1894 First set of Associate in Arts degree granted by the Junior College of Chicago University Legislature established California’s community colleges

Where are we today Today in the U.S. almost half of all undergraduates are enrolled in a community college. 1.8M students in California take credit classes at a community college and about the same number take non-credit or fee-based classes. About 10% of Californians are at a community college each week.

Looking Ahead Develop and sustain strong leadership at all levels of our institutions through both good times and bad times. Ensure the highest quality of education for our students
