The story takes place in the United States. Main Conflict: the main conflict is that she is a drug addict. She has no friends and she has low self of steam. And she goes in to a depression because her love of her life hurt her.

“Last night was the worst night of my blank, rotten, stinky, dreary mess-up life. there were only four of us, and Shaila and rod, her current “boyfriend, introduced us to heroin ” (Anonymous 77 ). This scene is important because it was the first time she tried heroin. A very bad drug that can affect you a lot throught out your life.

Reason You should read this book because it is interesting and in some way you learn from it because these days there is many teen kids using drugs& not knowing the consequences of it. Reason: Even though Alice cant reparations for her mistakes, her life can still have meaning as her story lives on. Her lessons can teach us not to make the same poor choices. Reason: It would be vacuous not to read this exciting book
