The “How”… To Save A Life Part 2 of the “Life—Saver” Sermon Series

Text: Luke 15:1-10 (NKJV) 1 Then all the tax collectors and the sinners drew near to Him to hear Him. 2 And the Pharisees and scribes complained, saying, “This Man receives sinners and eats with them.” 3 So He spoke this parable to them, saying: 4 “What man of you, having a hundred sheep, if he loses one of them, does not leave the ninety- nine in the wilderness, and go after the one which is lost until he finds it? 5 And when he has found it, he lays it on his shoulders, rejoicing.

Text: Luke 15:1-10 (NKJV) 6 And when he comes home, he calls together his friends and neighbors, saying to them, ‘Rejoice with me, for I have found my sheep which was lost!’ 7 I say to you that likewise there will be more joy in heaven over one sinner who repents than over ninety-nine just persons who need no repentance.

Text: Luke 15:1-10 (NKJV) 8 “Or what woman, having ten silver coins, if she loses one coin, does not light a lamp, sweep the house, and search carefully until she finds it? 9 And when she has found it, she calls her friends and neighbors together, saying, ‘Rejoice with me, for I have found the piece which I lost!’ 10 Likewise, I say to you, there is joy in the presence of the angels of God over one sinner who repents.”

Truth in a nutshell: There is a real Heaven and a real hell and real people will spend eternity in one place or another. And God expects us to do something about it. But we are not left alone to do the best we can to be a witness for Jesus. All of Heavens resources stand ready to help us to get the job done.

Three Things… Three things that we need to reach the lost. 1. Compassion 2. Effort We need to pray continually for the lost. As a church we need to make every effort to reach the lost. Do our best to share Jesus personally whenever we have the opportunity

Three Things… 3. Persistence We are not left solely dependent on our own abilities. God himself will help you if you pray and ask for it. He will delegate his authority and power to witness for Jesus.

Matthew 28:18-19 (NKJV) 18 And Jesus came and spoke to them, saying, “All authority has been given to Me in heaven and on earth. 19 Go therefore and make disciples of all the nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit,

Partners With God We are partners with God, He creates the opportunities, He is responsible for the outcome. To save a life you have to be in the right place (where the need is) Make the choice to become friends with people who do not know Jesus… Look for those who are open to a life change. Be a real friend.

Being A Real Friend Friends are the best influencers for people coming to faith. Friends are the best resource to answer spiritual questions. The way you live is a more powerful witness than your words. Friends help to insure that new Christians stay strong and grow in Christ. You have the honor of bringing someone you care about to the Lord.

The Plan Identify three people who you will do your best to either lead to the Lord or bring to church in the next 3 months. Write their names on the evangelism card. This month…take the Card and pray for guidance. Pray at 1:00 P.M. for 1 minute every day for 1 of your 3 people.

The Plan Next month do whatever you can to build relationship with them. In the third month or any time that you feel the time is right. Invite them to have a conversation that leads to the sinners prayer or ask them to come to a church service or event.
