So You Want to Be a Teacher? Federal Teach Grants-Teach in a “high need” school/subject-$4,000 Federal Loan Forgiveness-$5,000 in federal Stafford loan for five years low income school. Up to $17,500 for math,science, special ed. Federal Perkins Loan Forgiveness-part or all-low income school, special ed.,subject related. Teach for America-Interest payment or $4,725 per year if you teach 2 years at a disadvantaged school.

LOANS Federal Stafford – low interest 6%-6.8%; students pay back after graduation-6 month grace period.
