Whose mother said this? From the bible, history & nursery rhymes That’s a nice story Jonah but now tell me where you’ve really been for the last three days? Of course I’m proud that you invented the light bulb. Now turn off the light and get to bed! Can’t you paint on walls like other children Mike? Do you have any idea how hard it is to get that stuff off the ceiling? After all that money your father and I spent on braces Mona, is that the biggest smile you can give us? I don’t care what youve discovered Chris, you still could have written!

Whose mother said this? From the bible, history & nursery rhymes If I’ve told you once, I’ve told you 100 times not to sit on that wall! But would you listen? Noooo! Your father and I have discussed this and we’ve decided you can have your own phone line. So you can quit spending so much time in phone boxes. But Albert, its your senior school photo. Cant you do something about your hair? Hair cream, styling gel, something...?

The Apostle Paul writes: Second Corinthians 1 v9 (NLT) We think you ought to know...about the trouble we went through...We were crushed and overwhelmed beyond our ability to endure and we thought we would never live through it. In fact, we expected to die. But as a result, we stopped relying on ourselves and learned to rely only on God, who raises the dead. 2 Cor 4 v7 (GNB): Yet we who have this spiritual treasure are like common clay pots (jars of clay), in order to show that the supreme power belongs to God.

2 Cor 4 v 16 (NLT) That is why we never give up. Though our bodies are dying, our spirits are being renewed every day. For our present troubles are small and won’t last very long. Yet they produce for us a glory that vastly outweighs them and will last forever! So we don’t look at the troubles we can see now; rather, we fix our gaze on things that cannot be seen. For the things we see now will soon be gone, but the things we cannot see will last forever. 2 Cor 12 v 9, 10 (NLT) Three different times I begged the Lord to take it away. Each time he said, “My grace is all you need. My power works best in weakness.” So now I am glad to boast about my weaknesses, so that the power of Christ can work through me. That’s why I take pleasure in my weaknesses, and in the insults, hardships, persecutions, and troubles that I suffer for Christ. For when I am weak, then I am strong.
