Cracking the Code TIS and TQMS present an e-learning course to unravel and understand the TATA Code of Conduct.

What is the TATA Code of Conduct? The TATA Code of Conduct (TCoC) is a clearly defined document which serves as a guide to TATA employees and companies on the principles of ethics in business. The Clauses of the Code provide guidelines on issues beyond financial propriety, on corporate and personal behaviour.

The Code and You (1 of 2) Should I gift an expensive watch to my client? Should I complain about my colleague who has been sneaking out of office everyday for freelance work? Should I report my boss’s “improper” advances? Should I take printouts for my children’s homework from the office printer?

The Code and You (2 of 2) Of the many challenges an employee faces, perhaps the most difficult are ethical dilemmas. Such dilemmas are generally not black and white. There are various issues to be considered before taking a decision. The TATA Code of Conduct is the guideline to follow when facing such a situation.

About the e-learning Course The TATA Code of Conduct course will cover all 25 Clauses of the Code of Conduct. The course will run for approximately 3.5 hours. It will give a comprehensive overview of all the 25 Clauses of the TATA Code of Conduct. Each clause will take about minutes to complete. This course will increase the level of awareness about the Code among the employees of the Group.

Highlights of the Course Two different courses for two different sets of user groups. An advanced verison for the Managers and a basic level for the Workforce. Hindi and English versions available for each course. Real life scenarios for each of the 25 Clauses will emphasize the key learning points. Self-Assessment to check the learner’s understanding of the lessons learned.

Programme Objectives The objectives of this programme are to ensure that employees across the TATA companies, identify with the code understand the clauses of the code appreciate deeper implications of the clauses as mandated by their role identify ways of applying the procedures and policies in their working lives recognise the importance of a deeper commitment to the TATA Code of Conduct, knowing that it protects both the company and them

Structure of the Course Each Clause module is divided into the following topics: Scenario Dilemma Checkpoint The Clause and its Interpretation Summing Up

Scenario Scenarios, closely resembling real life situations, make the learning engaging and interesting.

Dilemma In the checkpoint that stems from the scenario, the learner has to identify the right course of action in a dilemma, with the help of a Clause. The answers will improve their understanding of the Clauses of the TCoC on which the scenario is based.

Clause and Interpretation Here, the learner is presented the specific Clause. The Interpretation of the Clause is presented through an interactive button. Also, important words work as hyperlinks for an explanation.

Summing Up In this final screen, the key points that will require intense scrutiny, are presented to reinforce the learning and ensure that the requirements of the specific Clause are met.
