What is Spyware Malware – (Malicious Software) A general term to encompass unwanted software on a personal computer Spyware - installs code that reports info Adware - notes what Internet sites the user visits and tailors advertising Hijackers – Rogue website redirects/loads instead of home url Worms - program that transmits a payload over a network to infect other computers Viruses – an.exe program that when run, copies itself and infects a computer Trojan Horse – bundled with desirable software and disguised
