R ESUME W RITING L ESSON : 11 TH G RADE Objective: All students will understand the uses of a resume, and create a resume for your future use. This PowerPoint presentation contains the following: Resume Lesson Instructions on how to start your own resume.

W HAT IS A RESUME ? It’s a well organized report of your accomplishments It’s like a movie trailer… if it catches your interest, you want to see the movie. The same holds true for your audience – if your resume peaks their interest, they will want to learn more about you.

O BJECTIVE S TATEMENT An Objective Statement is a short statement that describes what you want. While your overarching goal, for example, may be to get a job, your resume statement may state that you want a job in customer service.
