 This project will exercise the skills and abilities learned from the Construction Engineering Technology program.  The apartment is a theoretical build, but all activities and documents will be done as if it were actually being built.

 Preliminary Drawings  Rough Estimate  Site Assessment and Selection  Economic Feasibility Assessment  Decision on Building Layout  Investigation of Building Codes

 Wood Framed  Concrete Foundation  Estimated 3,826 sq. ft.  Estimated 957 sq. ft. for each unit.

 Gable Style Roof  6/12 roof pitch  Simple design makes it cheap and easy to build.

 Each building will have 4 units. ▪ Three bedrooms ▪ Two Bathrooms ▪ Kitchen ▪ Utility ▪ Living and Dining Room  Two story layout.  A rough estimate was done to give an idea of the cost.  3,826 sq. $80 sq. ft.  = $306,080

 5.7 Acres on Whiskey Lane  4.4 miles from campus  Price: $79,500  Lot Dimensions 1400’ x 177’  Electricity Provided by: Entergy  Water Type: Public  Land Use: Agricultural, Commercial/Residential, Multifamily

The construction documents will include:  Final Drawings (using AutoCad): ▪ Site Plan ▪ Parking ▪ Location of building ▪ Access road ▪ Utilities ▪ Floor plan ▪ 1st and 2 nd floor layout ▪ Foundation Plan

 Final Drawings Cont. ▪ Electrical ▪ Elevations ▪ Exterior materials ▪ Roof design ▪ Schedules and Details of Construction ▪ Opening schedule  Windows  Door openings ▪ Door schedule  Shows complete details of doors ▪ Room finishing schedule  Walls, Ceilings, and Floors

 Final Drawings Cont.  Structural Detail Plan  Floor Framing Plan ▪ Floor and Ceiling joist layout ▪ Rafter plan

 Building specifications (spec sheet)  Brand, Type, Color and Size of materials used.  Project budget and financing  A complete estimation of labor, costs, and materials  Detailed materials and equipment list that are needed to complete the job

 Planning and scheduling of the project using Primavera Project Planner.  Project duration  When the construction phase will be completed.

 The completion of the pre-design and design phase last semester will allow me to fully complete the pre-construction documents that will be done this semester.
