Our school is a Catholic school and a Sports College. Both dimensions are not only at the heart of the ethos of our community but are also at the heart of our curriculum. All students follow a GCSE course in Religious Education. All students will follow a Physical Education course for 2 periods / week which will develop the individual’s use of sport as a vehicle to enhance their personal, physical and mental wellbeing.

This MAY involve: Being entered early for a GCSE in Year 10. Being entered for an additional qualification. Being entered for a course that doesn’t have a formal examination but is assessed through a portfolio.

Engage Enable Empower Thornleigh Salesian College - A Sports College Continuity and Progression. Thornleigh hosts the Catholic Post-16 provision for all of Bolton. We work as part of a collaborative group called the North West Catholic College Consortium.
