To be effective writing for business, one must be complete, concise, and accurate. A lot of writing for business is sloppy, poorly written, disorganized, littered with jargon, and incomplete. Often it is either too long or too short. All these attributes contribute to ineffective business writing.

© 2014 wheresjenny.com Business writing as a management tool Vocabulary Concise : Giving a lot of information clearly and in a few words Sloppy : Careless and unsystematic; excessively casual Proofread : Read (printer's proofs or other written or printed material) and mark any errors Components : A part or element of a larger whole Thesis : A statement or theory that is put forward as a premise to be maintained or proved Pertinent : Relevant or applicable to a particular matter Transition : The process or a period of changing from one state or condition to another Metaphors : A thing regarded as representative or symbolic of something else

You need to: 1) Organize your material 2) Consider your audience 3) Write 4) Proofread 5) And edit your text. The emphasis on each step may vary, depending on what you are writing, but the steps will be the same.
