RoboCamp Now in its seventh year, Robocamp is a free, weeklong day camp for high school-aged girls hosted at UNT's Discovery Park campus each summer. The camp features numerous hands-on activities and experiments in robotics, engineering design, critical thinking and computer programming. Four camp sessions will be offered this summer. Last year the Robocamp for girls program won the Metroplex Tech Titan of the Future-University Level award, which recognizes higher education institutions that encourage students to choose engineering and technology-related disciplines.Robocamp

Xbox Game Development Camp The Xbox game programming camp The Xbox game programming camp is a one-week day camp that will engage middle and high school students in team, project-oriented activities that utilize laptops, XNA Framework (which is provided by Microsoft), and Xbox 360 gaming consoles. Students will learn coding and programming principles and develop an understanding of the role of physics and mathematics in game design. Students will have the opportunity to “play” the games and therefore to see the results of their programming.

Materials Camp High school students are invited to learn more about the world of materials engineering and nanotechnology at UNT College of Engineering’s ASM Materials Camp.ASM Materials Camp Now in its second year, Materials Camp offers participating students the opportunity to gain hands-on experience with the high-tech tools researchers use today to create the materials of tomorrow. Materials Camp is free to participating students. Only students who are graduating high school in spring of 2012 or 2013 are eligible to apply, and the application deadline is June 13.

Mariachi Aguilitas Summer Camp Now in its fourth year, the Mariachi Aguilitas Summer Camp will allow more than 50 high shool students learn to better sing and play the guitarrón, vihuela, trumpet and violin. The program is offered by the UNT College of Music. Maestro José Hernàndez from Mariachi Sol De Mexico will be the guest artist and instructor.the Mariachi Aguilitas Summer Camp

Dance and Child International Gathering Acclaimed dance experts at the top of their field and dancers as young as 8 will join together for daytime classes and evening performances at the Fourth National Gathering of Dance and the Child International July 12 – 15 (Tuesday – Friday) at the University of North Texas. Grandparents University Grandparents University, a multi-generational learning experience, is back for its second year. The camp offers grandparents and their grandchildren, ages 7-12, the opportunity to attend classes together and earn a Grandparents University degree by "majoring" in two subject areas: apparel merchandising, astronomy, computer animation and games, CSI Denton, emergency administration, French culture and language, animal geniuses, art courses, genealogy research and robotics.

Camp Communicate Camp Communicate is a fun ‐ filled summer day camp experience designed for children ages 5 ‐ 12 years with speech, language and hearing disorders. Through a variety of group activities, children have opportunities to make new friends, practice communication in a language ‐ rich environment and most of all, HAVE FUN!

Future Bilingual Teachers Academy High school students and community college freshmen thinking about a career in bilingual education will learn about teaching this summer while getting a taste of college life at the University of North Texas. Addressing a need for more bilingual educators, the UNT Bilingual ESL/Teacher Education Program is offering the Future Bilingual Teachers Academy from July 9 through 12.
