Reflections The internet offers educators a bountiful resource of current, salient information right at our fingertips. However, not every learning situation can be completely adapted to online learning with Vocational training as a perfect example. While students must learn to be technologically literate with respect to computers and the Internet, not every students wants or needs to forfeit educational hours learning a trade for an “electronic education”. I have made an effort to select a lesson that might lend itself to electronic augmentation and configure the site to be expanded to other lessons. I hope viewers can glean something they find useful from this site. - Ed Wilson Foothill High School Redding, CA
SUCCESSES l Technology will many times get their attention. l The Internet approach will allow me one more avenue for remediation
SHORTCOMINGS l Student’s expectations and learning styles in shop classes seem to do better with “hands on” exercises. l No matter how you present measuring, some students have a mental block to learning fractions, which they claim is genetic.

Conclusion Reviewing State Standards helps us to “keep our eyes on the target” but creating effective activities is where “the rubber meets the road”. This experience has not only taught me to apply a new technology tool but also helped me: 1. Refocus on State Standards 2. Revisit behavioral objectives 3. Review the effectiveness of class activities
