FP6−2004−Infrastructures−6-SSA E-infrastructure shared between Europe and Latin America Trieste, GRID Workshop, Conclusions and outlook The progress made by EELA in such a short amount of time is quite impressive –the sentence written in the EELA press release “By means of the action of a group of very skilled and highly motivated people…” is in fact very true! However, many challenges are still in front of us: –extension of the pilot testbed –setting-up of ROC and User Support –setting-up of Certification Authorities in Latin America –porting of additional and new applications –the first deliverables (to be due already in february !) –create the EELA “brand” and the “team spirit” A chinese proverb says: “A long journey begins with a single step”. The EELA KoM was our first step.
