ThinkEducationUSA is a new print and online promotional tool that will help U.S. colleges and universities reach and recruit international students. The New International Student Recruitment Tool

ThinkEducationUSA: In Print & Online ThinkEducationUSA has two main components: ThinkEducationUSA.com, a web portal that includes college and service provider profiles, in both video and text formats, with the option of presenting to students in their native languages. Discover Yourself in America, an international student recruitment brochure that will be distributed to one million students worldwide via Department of State Education USA Advising Centers, Department of Commerce offices overseas and International study fairs.

ThinkEducationUSA was launched to support efforts by the U.S. Departments of State and Commerce to increase international student enrollment. Unique multimedia and translation features, along with distribution and promotion via the worldwide network of 450 Education USA advising centers worldwide, differentiate ThinkEducationUSA from other international student recruitment tools. Supporting Federal Government Initiatives

ThinkEducationUSA: A Level Playing Field ThinkEducationUSA provides a “level playing field” on which colleges of all kinds and sizes can present themselves to international students. Site functionality will allow students to search colleges by size, institutional type (liberal arts, community college, state university, etc.), and geography.

Benefits for Participating Colleges & Universities Generate qualified student inquiries and applications Reduce the cost of reaching prospective international students with effective virtual recruitment tools Provide educational institutions – from community colleges to graduate schools – with an affordable strategy for reaching international students

Video-focused College Presentations Colleges and service providers can post or upload their own video presentations. Colleges and service providers can post a companion text profile. Students can request additional information, send an e- mail, and visit a college’s own site or other web sources of authoritative information.

The audio track of a video presentation may be translated into multiple languages — students can select a language with a click of their mouse. Subtitles can be added to the English language video. The college’s text profile can be translated simultaneously. Translations will make ThinkEducationUSA more accessible and allow for involvement of parents, counselors, teachers, and mentors in the search and selection process. Reaching Students in Their Native Languages

The Print Component: Discover Yourself in America An eight-page, full color brochure with cutting-edge design that promotes the benefits of going to college in the U.S. Worldwide distribution of one million copies will drive traffic to the ThinkEducationUSA website. The first 200 colleges participating on the website will be listed in the 2009 brochure.

The Affordable Alternative for International Student Recruitment The cost for posting a video and text profile in English on ThinkEducationUSA – including the brochure listing – is $899. Each additional translated audio track and text profile is $899. Subtitling can be provided for $499 per language. Schools also can provide their own translation for $299 per language. In lieu of a video, colleges and service providers may post alternative presentations, such as a PowerPoint-style presentation or a virtual tour with still images.

Summary: ThinkEducationUSA Combines powerful web and print resources Allows colleges and service providers to reach students in a dynamic multimedia video format and in their native languages Reduces the travel expense of recruiting international students Promotes U.S. higher education overseas and helps participating colleges recruit qualified international students Supports a National Education Initiative
