artifact An object made by human hands

custom A way of doing something that is shared by a group, such as shaking hands when saying hello.

culture A way of life shared by a group of people

history The events of the past that lead to the present

trade The exchange of goods and services

population The number of people living in an area

agriculture Another name for farming

prehistory The time before people invented writing
