Bio Betsy Almerico Betsy Almerico is the Technology Integration Program Manager for Jefferson Parish Public Schools. In this capacity she plans and coordinates technology professional development, collaborates with outside agencies to provide teachers and students with opportunities to develop 21 st Century technology skills, and supervise the team of district level Technology Integration Specialist. She has over 35 years of varied experience in the field of education including school librarian, classroom teacher, Region 1 TLTC facilitator, and Technology Integration Specialist. Professionally, she has presented at various conferences including NECC, served as a technology consultant and served on various state and national boards. Her academic background includes a B. A., M. Ed. and an Ed. D. in Curriculum and Instruction from the University of New Orleans.

Bio Sarah Rosedahl Sarah Rosedahl is currently working in K12 educational technology, in the New Orleans area and pursuing a master’s degree in educational technology at Michigan State University. Sarah’s work in educational technology started in the fall of 2007 when she joined Cisco’s 21st Century Schools Initiative, as a 21S Fellow. The 21S program was a multi-million dollar, three year program initiated by Cisco after Hurricane Katrina in The program was designed to create a 21st century educational model to help school districts transform learning and change student outcomes by leveraging technology as an accelerant Prior to working in educational technology, Sarah worked as an engineering manager, program manager, and engineer for twenty three years for companies including Cisco, Silicon Graphics, and several small start-ups. In addition to her professional experience, she has worked with many non-profits including The Sierra Club Inner City Outings, Habitat for Humanity, and HandsOnUSA in capacities ranging from volunteer, trip leader, and instructor; volunteer coordinator, secretary, and chair. Bio Ruth Brewington Ruth Brewington is the Librarian and Technology Coordinator at T H Harris Middle School in Metairie, LA. She and her students began documenting the New Orleans area recovery from Hurricane Katrina in Seeing the students enthusiasm for the first project, resulted in yearly trips to New Orleans and opened the door to other community based projects. Harris students have created podcasts for the Louisiana State Museum, acted as iReporters for the World War II Museum, and created digital notebooks about the flora and fauna of Jean Lafitte Barataria National Park. She has over 15 years experience as a librarian. Professionally, she has presented at various local conferences including LAMP and Web 2.0 tools at Jefferson Parish Schools. She has also attended numerous state and national seminars about the humanities. Her academic background includes a B. A., from the University of New Orleans and she is National Board Certified in Library Media Services.
