RECYCLINGS & SAVINGS IN TED ANKARA COLLEGE

 Paper Savings  Paper & Battery Recyclings  Electricity Savings  Water Savings  Savings Of Old Books & Toys For The Schools In Need  Food Recyclings  Disposal Of Waste Oil  Good Ecological Manners

PAPER SAVINGS IB students in the school need to write journals to complete their obligatory CAS hours. These jounals are written to an online system called Moodle instead of paper and this leads to huge amounds of paper savings every year.

Also the announcements at school are broadcasted using straw and glossy papers (recycled paper) instead of normal papers.

PAPER & BATTERY RECYCLINGS There are recycling boxes at every corridor in school. They are classified as paper, plastic and metal.

Furthermore, there are newspaper recycling boxes at several places in school, to prevent the old newspapers to be thrown out.

ELECTRICITY SAVINGS In the school library, the computers which are not being used are turned off to save electricity.

WATER SAVINGS In the school’s health center, paper towels are being used instead of linen to cut down on the usage of water and energy in laundry

SAVINGS OF OLD BOOKS & TOYS There are boxes for collecting old toys, stationary and books that are not longer used, to be distributed to different schools for the people in need.

FOOD RECYCLINGS In the cafeteria the leftovers are being collected and taken to animal shelters to be consumed as food for the animals.

DISPOSAL OF WASTE OIL After the waste oil is being collected and stored, it is being sent to oil waste units to be turned into biodiesel.

GOOD ECOLOGICAL MANNERS The kindergarten of Ted Ankara College received a Good Manners In Ecology Certificate by the Eco-Schools Project.
