 EORNA =European Operating Room Nurses Association  Officially founded in 1992  Membership is through member country association  Membership is based on an application and approval format  Membership of EORNA is open to all countries in the European area of the WHO – Regional Health Map

 To promote the perioperative nurse / perioperative care and practice  To enhance patient care and safety  To provide educational opportunities, platforms and networking for members  To be the voice of perioperative nurses/ practitioners in Europe  To promote relevant charity initiatives  To standardise care and education in EORNA member regions

 A Voluntary/ non-profit Organization  Own constitution,standing orders and guidelines  Work with strategic aims in Board & Committee formats  26 member countries – 27 associations  Representing approximately 70,000 nurses  Up to 2 representatives per association  Official board meeting held twice a year  Conference held every three years up to 2015 and every two years there after  Next Congress- Rome Italy May 8 th -10 th 2015

 EORNA is a relatively young and vibrant organisation,involved in the strategic development and delivery of major issues relevant and current within perioperative nursing care.  The common voice of perioperative nurses serve to strengthen, enhance and support the many opportunities and challenges we face.  As an international organisation we are challenged with perhaps one of the greatest missions of mankind.  That of providing safe, evidence based, competent, caring,effective, and affordable perioperative nursing care.  We are as one, moving forward with a common goal,the enhancement of patient care and staff welfare.
