Christmas in Poland
On Christmas Eve people in Poland decorate their Christmas trees and put presents under them.
When the first star appears in the sky whole families sit by the table and have Christmas Eve supper.
Before they start the supper they wish each other Merry Christmas and share the wafer.
The supper consist of 12 dishes.
Among those 12 dishes there are: ‘Beetroot soup with ravioli’
‘Cabbage with peas and mushrooms’
‘dumplings stuffed with cabbage and wild mushrooms’
‘jellied carp’
The most popular Christmas cake is ‘poppy- seed cake’
People boil dried fruit and this is a very popular Christmas Eve drink

On Christmas Day people visit their families On Christmas Day people visit their families. In every town and city there are big Christmas trees. This is a Christmas tree in our capital – Warszawa.
On Christmas time children dressed as shepherds , animals and three kings go from house to house, sing carols and get sweets or money for it.
