Christmas in Nederland

How celebrate we christmas Two weeks before Christmas everybody puts the Christmastree in the house. A lot of people put their Christmastree inside and outside their house. On the first Christmasday you unpack the presents Mostly families come together to celebrate Christmas. Rabbit and Turkeys are meals who are eaten by many people during Christmas. We often eat gourmet and fondue at Christmas.

On the classroom We have a nativity in the school And we have a christmastree in the school

Christmas in school In our school we celebrate christmas by decorating our classroom. We bring decorations our classroom. We bring a fake tree and some children bring decorations. This year we made a nativity scene from clay. We also make drawings of santaclaus and his reindeer Rudolph.

Sinterklaas We have in the netherlands no santa claus but sinterklaas. He brings gifts into the shoe rather than under the christmastree

Santaclaus The American Santa Claus comes from the Dutch Sinterklaas name. Another name for Santa Claus is Father Crismas. The American Santa has elves working for him at the North Pole

The presents On christmas eve we open the presents under the christmas tree.
