This allows high quality content to differentiate, and ensure relevance of the content to users. Content & Services The Open Platform creates a sustainable marketplace for exchange and licensed usage of digital intellectual property from industry, government, academia and individuals, including weather and climate forecasts, environmental observations, exposure data, risk models and more. Users [will be] engaged through the provision of open-source, mainstream programming tools and highly accessible visual mashups. Networks The marketplace supported by the Open Platform will require very large-scale storage and powerful scientific compute infrastructure delivered through the cloud with a high- level of service quality required to support business operations. As the market evolves, the demand for business-focused cloud-offerings will drive commercially viable investment in networks and infrastructure as part of the open platform's overall value chain.
