PART 1 THE RULE OF THE KING

THE OLD TESTAMENT PROMISE Isaiah 9:6-7 For unto us a child is born….and his government….over his kingdom Daniel 2:44 The God of heaven will set up a kingdom that will never be destroyed…. Psalm 145:13 Your kingdom is an everlasting kingdom

JESUS CAME TO PROCLAIM IT AND DEMONSTRATE IT MARK 1:15 Jesus proclaimed the good news…the Kingdom of God is near. He then cast out many demons and healed many who were sick. LUKE 4:43 Proclaiming the kingdom was the very reason Jesus was sent JOHN THE BAPTIST doubted why Jesus came – Jesus pointed to the signs of the kingdom. Luke 7:22-23

THE CHURCH IN ACTS(ION) PROCLAIMED IT AND DEMONSTATED IT ACTS 8:12 Peter preached good news about the kingdom and signs and wonders followed ACTS 19 Paul in Ephesus spent 3 months (v8) speaking about the kingdom and there were extraordinary miracles

WHAT IS THIS KINGDOM? A physical realm or a personal rule? Greek = basileia = the activity of a king. The nature of a new society The quality of life under the rule of the king The relationships between people and God

WHAT HAPPENS WHEN WE ENTER THE KINGDOM? We are not adding a bit of religion, nor just giving something to a saviour to give us a ticket to heaven We are making a DECISION (repentance) to place ourselves under the KINGSHIP, RULERSHIP and REIGN of KING JESUS – the MESSIAH, the CHRIST, the ANNOINTED ONE

WHAT ARE THE CONSEQUENCES OF BEING IN THE KINGDOM? 1.It IMPACTS our whole lives, every aspect under His rule 1.It IMPARTS new life into us, abundant life, freedom, forgiveness, hope, destiny 2.It IMPLIES being a supernatural, devil defeating, culture changing lifestyle
