LG&E & KU Kevin Lewellen – Group Leader – Asset Information Verl Logsdon – Lead Facility Records Technician

There are 3 main divisions in LG&E-KU ◦ Energy Delivery  Gas & Electric Distribution (pipes & wires)  Gas Transmission  Meter Reading  Revenue Collection ◦ Electric Transmission ◦ Energy Services (Power Generation)

 Customers by Utility ◦ LG&E Gas Customers – 318,000 ◦ LG&E Electric Customers – 394,000 ◦ KU Electric Customers – 540,000  Gas Distribution ◦ 4,300 miles  Gas Transmission ◦ 5 UG Storage Fields ◦ 12 Interconnects with Texas & Tennessee Pipelines ◦ 2 Compressor Stations  Electric Distribution ◦ Conductor miles – 39,000 ◦ Substations - 600

 Map existing facilities and attributes that are important to crews, internal & external clients and interface to other applications  Provide ◦ Prints f Prints f ◦ Specialty Maps Specialty Maps ◦ Provide Supporting Documentation Provide Supporting Documentation  Report to internal & external clients ◦ Team Leaders, Managers & Senior Management ◦ PSC & DOT ◦ Benchmarking Studies ◦ Tax Department  Scan & Store Records for Future Verification of Facilities

Locations ◦ Louisville ◦ Lexington ◦ Danville ◦ Pineville ◦ Earlington

 Gas – LG&E  Distribution & Transmission Mains & Services  Valves  Regulation Facilities  Electric – LG&E & KU  Distribution Poles, Wires, Transformers  Operating Devices (switch Gears, switches, fuses)  Substations (including internal worlds)including internal worlds  Lights – LG&E & KU  Light type, Wattage, Customer Name, Location  Landbase –LG&E & KU  Correct or reposition existing road R/W’s & Street Names  Labeling all tributaries  Placing Easements, Building Footprints in HCA’s, Taxing Districts, etc.  Place new Subdivisions or Roads from Dedicated Plats

 LG&E Gas – 99.3%  LG&E Electric – 98.8%  KU Electric – 98.9%

 Annually personnel come together across state ◦ Employees are assigned mapping procedures for….  Landbase  Gas  Electric  Lights ◦ Mapping procedures are presented, discussed & a decision on what the “best practice” is for mapping the particular facility moving forward

 Asset Information – LG&E and KU ◦ Map all facilities that need to be reported on, data is needed for field personnel or is needed for interfacing with other applications ◦ Provide information about existing facilities to internal and external customers ◦ The GIS system interfaces with several applications i.e.  OMS, CCS, WMS, FieldSmart, DETS, RAPP, SynerGEE, IRAS, Bass-Trigon, FIM, Gas Leak Manager, etc.  Important ◦ Communicate ◦ Communicate & work together (especially field personnel) ◦ Quality ◦ Quality over quantity
