Model United Nations is…  A simulated academic example of the United Nations  Aims of simulation are to Educate the participants in: Civics Effective Communication Skills Critical Thinking Skills Globalization and Multilateral Diplomacy

The participant…  Usually takes the role of Diplomat and in effect must… Research the assigned country Investigate international issues Debate, deliberate, and consult Develop solutions for worldwide problems

The Conference is…  Usually broken down into simulations  The skills needed are the same for all simulations and include: Public Speaking Group Communication/Active listening Research/Data Gathering Note taking/Technical Writing Conflict resolution

Simulations breakdown into…  The United Nations main bodies which include: The General Assembly Economic and Social Council Security Council International Court of Justice United Nations Children's Fund Human Rights Council United Nations High Commission for Refugees World Food Program
