HOW CAN INDIVIDUALS PROMOTE A NATIONAL IDENTITY… BY: VICTORIA POITRAS & KYLE SELENSKY

Musicians and Artists: There are many ways an individual can promote their national identity, one example includes becoming a famous Canadian. A song writer just like Stompin` by Tom Connors. He was also the artist behind The Hockey Song which is a well anthem among all that knows hockey. There are a lot of Canadians that enter the music and artist businesses, and many of them love the Canadian ways of looking at things, for example, our landscape.

July 1st On July 1 st, there are many parades. Business show off their Canadiana by letting people see who is all Canadian. How banks are in the parade, we as Canadians feel the sense of pride knowing that we have the most ``sturdy`` banks in the world. As well as seeing little kids that may not know the meaning yet but they will grow up to love the idea.

Top 10 Canadians This list of our top 10 gives us a sense of accomplishment, we know that other people look at this list and might not totally understand. There are people like Tommy Douglas with respect because he single handedly gave Canada free health care. There is also Terry Fox who tried to run across Canada just to stop cancer. Top 10: 1. Tommy Douglas 2. Terry Fox 3. Pierre Elliott Trudeau 4. Frederick Banting 5. David Suzuki 6. Lester B. Pearson 7. Don Cherry 8. John A. Macdonald 9. Alexander Graham Bell 10. Wayne Gretzky

Cultures & Promotion To promote people`s identity, their cultures. Being Iniut, Metis or Quebecois; they show their identity, and they are proud. Some use their art to promote Others use their culture backgrounds All of these culture backgrounds and identities show up everywhere we are, but that is what makes us Canadian.

Government The Canadian government has helped many athletes compete for Canada. At all levels there are people that need help to get to the next level. To put the flag on your chest. Display where you are from and be proud of it. Ex. Team Canada sweater.
