Tonight’s Homework Workbook Page 80

Today’s Objective W RITE THE OBJECTIVE IN YOUR OWN WORDS AT THE TOP OF WORKBOOK PAGE 75 SWBAT (Students Will Be Able To)… determine if a decimal is repeating or terminating and explain how they know.

Terminating & Repeating Decimals

How to determine if a fraction is a terminating or repeating decimal USE LONG DIVISION!!! If the answer ends (i.e.: you have a remainder of zero) it is a terminating decimal. If the answer keeps repeating, it is a repeating decimal.

Example USE LONG DIVISION!!!

Example USE LONG DIVISION!!!

Example USE LONG DIVISION!!!

Practice Activity With your groups, work through the problems on workbook page 75 and 76. We will go over this by the end of class Remember: by the end of class you should be able to determine if a decimal is repeating or terminating and explain how you know.
