Proposal for SK C&C ㈜

Goal  Wireless  Multimedia

Contents  Trend  Focusing on Streaming multimedia  Scenarios #1. Tao-Platform for wireless #2. QoS management for wireless #3. Media control for wireless #4. Media security for wireless #5. Session management for wireless #6. Media Load-Balance

Trend  NGN (Next Generation Network)  POTS -> All-IP Network  Internet Media-on-Demand  VOD, Internet Radio/TV  Convergence (Wired & Wireless)  Narrow Band -> Broad Band

Focusing on Streaming Multimedia - Services 1. Communication Service (telephone, video conference) 2. Media-on-demand Service - Entertainment (VOD, WebCast)

Focusing on Streaming Multimedia - Protocols  Resource reservation : RSVP  Media transport : RTP  Media transport control : RTCP  Stream control : RTSP  Stream description : SDP  Signaling & Control : SIP

Protocols for Streaming Multimedia

Possible Scenarios #1. Tao-Platform for wireless #2. QoS management for wireless #3. Media control for wireless #4. Media security for wireless #5. Session management for wireless #6. Media Load-Balance

#1. TaoPlatform for wireless  Wireless 에 최적화한 Hardware Platform  WTCP Stack 탑재  Multimedia 지원 기술 탑재  High Reliability, High Availability 제공  Load Balance  Auto Fail-over  Watchdog-timer  Various Network Interface Types  Ethernet, ATM, Optical

#2. QoS Management for wireless  목적  Wireless 에서 효율적인 multimedia service 를 위한 QoS 를 보장한다.  방법  Multimedia content adaptation Multimedia application types – VOD, Interactive multimedia conferencing, …  Client profile Device and connection type …  Link conditions determined by Quality of signal at receiver Power and distance of transmitter (Signal to noise ratio)

#3. Media control for wireless  목적  Wireless 에서 안정적인 multimedia service 를 보장한다. Optimize RTCP Optimize RTSP

RTCP for wireless  Real-Time Control Protocol  Optimize RTCP Feedback

RTSP for wireless  Real-Time Stream Protocol  Optimize RTSP for Wireless Wireless

RTSP(cont.) - Streaming Media : download

RTSP(cont.) - Streaming Media : meta files

RTSP(cont.) - Streaming Media : rtsp (intergrated www)

#4. Media security for wireless  목적  Private Media Stream 에 대한 보안성을 보장 한다.  방법  Secure RTP for wireless 를 구현 confidentiality protection against replayed packets

#5. Session management for wireless  목적  Wireless 에 특화된 SIP Server 기능을 제공 한다.  방법  Optimize SIP Proxy for wireless  SIP Mobility 기능 구현

#5. Session management for wireless(cont)  SIP Proxy  Wired 와 Wireless 사이에서 SIP Traffic 을 제어 ( etc.
