Welcome to I-CAN Access I-CAN Access is a comprehensive database of more than 200 community groups from more than 12 countries across Europe It provides information about each organisation’s: –Relationship with Gilead and other partnerships –Focus, objectives and activities –Core campaigns and publications –Clinical and public policy activities It provides us with a platform to: –share our experiences and knowledge about working with community groups –ensure our engagement with community groups is aligned across teams and countries Password protected for Gilead colleagues only An online home for information about community groups and patient organisations working in key Gilead therapy areas across Europe See the notes section throughout this manual for further information

How can I-CAN Access help me? I need to undertake a patient survey, but I’m not sure which group is going to be most relevant I’ve been asked to support a charity’s campaign, but I don’t know much about this group I want to ensure patient views are considered in the tender process, but I don’t know which groups are open to working with pharmaceutical companies

How to sign in to I-CAN Access

Signing in to I-CAN Access I-CAN Access web address: Sign in with your Gilead address and the password you registered with Problems signing in? –Check you are using the Gilead address and the password you registered with – these are case sensitive –If you have forgotten your password, please click on the ‘forgotten my password’ link for a reminder to be sent to your – if you need further assistance

How to find information on I-CAN Access

I-CAN Access is organised into different search channels You will find this page within each therapy area. To make it as easy as possible to find information most relevant to your work, you can search the database by a number of different channels List search: see all organisations listed in alphabetical order by country Text search: type in the organisation name or a key word Type search: find organisations grouped by their focus of activities, their audience or geographical region

Using the text search on I-CAN Access

Text search Use the text search in the top right corner if you want to search by a keyword How to use the text search 1.Click on the search icon in the top right corner 2.Type in the organisation name or keyword that you want to search for 3.Filter your search results by Focus of Activities, Key Audiences and/or Regions 4.Scroll through the results listed in alphabetical order by country

How is information displayed on I-CAN Access?

Organisation summaries show key information at a glance A summary information box for each organisation will be displayed following any completed search Information includes: –Website address –Telephone number – address –Organisation’s aims/mission –Date the information was last updated

Individual profiles detail key information in one place Clicking on an organisation summary box will take you through to each organisation’s profile Each profile includes: –Date established –Contact details –Country the organisation works within –Organisation’s aims/missions –Key audience –Core campaigns and publications –Level of media activity –Gilead’s joint projects and funding provision –Relationship with other companies

A fast way to compare organisations: comparison charts

Comparison chart The comparison chart allows you to quickly and easily compare a number of organisations across different categories Click on the icon in the right-hand corner to access the comparison chart for any type search results To find out more information: –Select each organisation you’re interested in by ticking the box on the right-hand side –Scroll to the bottom of the page and click ‘Compare’ –Each of the selected organisations’ summaries will be displayed

Scenario #1 – building new relationships A number of HIV community organisations in the Netherlands are open to working in partnership with pharmaceutical companies and you hold good working relationships with some of them. You would like to reach out to any organisations which are open to working with pharma, but you have not previously worked with You would specifically like to make contact with organisations that focus on public policy awareness Search for the group and find the most suitable organisation and key person in this organisation you would like to reach out to

Scenario #2 – learning from colleagues You would like to partner with HIV community groups that target Black Minority Ethnic Women (BME Women) and you would also like to see whether any of your European colleagues have done the same so you can reach out to them and ask them about their experiences Identify who within Gilead you could contact to find out their experiences

Scenario #3 – working with the community during a tender A tendering opportunity has come up in Italy and you would like to explore the possibility of partnering with an HIV community group to make an independent submission during a tendering process A number of Italian organisations have worked with Gilead in the past during the tender process Search for these groups and list the three groups you would like to contact ahead of the tender

Scenario #4 – an audit of organisations You would like to conduct an audit of all of the HIV organisations in Europe who offer ‘counselling’ as part of their services Find this information using the ‘free search’ box in the top right corner 1)Capture which groups target older people specifically 2)Further refine your search to identify which groups in Northern Europe offer counselling and target older people

Scenario #5 – working with the community for media outreach You are looking to launch a testing campaign for all PLWHIV in Germany and would like to engage with groups who have a high level of media activity to help you gain the maximum amount of exposure for your campaign Please select the two most appropriate groups in Germany to contact

THEN+NOW section THEN+NOW is a range of patient information materials for people living with HIV, hepatitis C (HCV), chronic lymphocytic leukaemia (CLL) and follicular lymphoma (FL). The series includes a number of booklets, slide decks, animations and other materials. The range is designed for healthcare professionals and peer-support workers to share during clinics or appointments. On I-CAN Access you can download the artwork files to adapt and use locally.

I-CAN Access brings all of this information together in one central and easily accessible place. Can anyone use I-CAN Access? A.I-CAN Access can only be used by current Gilead employees. Q. How often is I-CAN Access updated? A.The I-CAN team provide updates for each organisation on I-CAN Access on a quarterly basis, as able. Q. Some information on an organisation is missing, out of date or incorrect – what should I do?
