Mission Ensure that students and staff are effective users and producers of ideas and information. We accomplish this mission by providing the instruction, resources (print and digital) and services required to support 21 st century teaching and learning.

We serve Students and staff in 16 schools and Town Hall  10,000+ students  900+ certified staff  500+ support staff (e.g. secretaries, paras, Tas)

Library Media Specialists Collaborate with teachers to create authentic learning experiences which integrate information and technology literacy skills with the classroom curriculum.

Library Media Specialists instruct students in:  Developing research/inquiry questions  Locating and accessing information  Using effective search strategies  Evaluating resources for relevance & reliability  Applying note taking strategies  Citing sources using appropriate formats  Solving problems  Creating a product/performance using appropriate information and technology to communicate their ideas and findings

Technology Integration Team The primary role of the technology integration team is to help teachers integrate technology in the classroom to engage students in their learning and help them develop the 21 st century skills to be career and college ready.  Determine, develop and conduct training programs for staff in the utilization of technology  Identify and support projects that explore the use of emerging technology in the curriculum and evaluate their potential for broad scale implementation  Serve as technical consultants to teachers and administrators  Coach teachers in using technology effectively  Model and/or co-teach the effective use of technology

BYOD Bring your own device (BYOD) allows the use of personally owned devices for educational purposes. Devices include:  Cell phones  Laptops  Tablets  Other Wi-Fi-devices BYOD is considered supplemental and is not meant to supplant district owned devices, nor preclude the district from making adequate investments in computer hardware. Google Apps for Education Set of online tools for communication, collaboration, time- management and document storage.  Gmail : a full functioning program  Calendar : a customizable calendar and to-do list  Contacts : an address book  Google Docs : a word-processing, spreadsheet, presentation, form and drawing program that allows multi-user access and editing  Google Sites : a website application allowing the gathering of a variety of information in one place - including videos, calendars, presentations, attachments, and text - and easily shared for viewing or editing with a small group, an entire organization, or the world
