The Roman Empire By AD 117 the Roman Empire included the whole of Italy, all the lands around the Mediterranean and much of Europe, including England, Wales and parts of Scotland.

 In August 55 B.C. (55 years before Jesus was born) the Roman general, Emperor Julius Caesar invaded Britain.  He took with him two Roman legions. Roman Invasion one
