Response to Identified Need Specialty Nurses Critical Care Curriculum STWHOAC Id need for CCN’s NFNorth & Orange Co. RHORC’s DACUM Orange Co RHORC convenes Curriculum Committee Orange Co RHORC partners with hospitals to deliver course using ETP funds.

North/Far North RHORC - Butte College Linda Zorn Conducted DACUM which served as basis of Critical Care Curriculum. Providing a Preceptor Training Inservice Program in May via videoconference. Developing a Health Occupations Awareness Program for community college counselors to use in recruiting efforts. Conducting Critical Thinking Skills workshop at Enloe Hospital in April. Developed Internet based PALS and ACLS continuing education program for Paramedics.

Bay Area RHORC-Mission College Dee Dee Bicocca Working with Hospital Council on developing recruiting programs for health care workers. Collaborating with Hewlett-Packard on development of telementoring program linking Health Academy students with business partners. Exploring need for Renal Dialysis Technicians and need for curriculum development for Renal Dialysis Technicians. Mission College has Community Ed Pharmacy Technician Program.

Central RHORC - Hartnell College Colly Tettelbach Developed online Medical Lab Technician program and coordinated its incorporation into the Health Care Division at Hartnell. Received Industry Driven Collaborative for Critical Care Nursing. Utilizing new Critical Care Curriculum developed by Joanne Gray to start Critical Care Nursing program at Hartnell. Exploring possibility of exporting MLT Program to San Francisco with Jose Ramon Fernandez- Pena.

Interior Bay RHORC - City Coll. of San Francisco Jose Ramon Fernandez-Pena Developed and coordinates Community Health Worker program, placing graduates in Community Health Clinics throughout San Francisco. Students may articulate with Health Education major at San Francisco State. Received $200,000 grant to disseminate Health Care Interpreter curriculum to partnering community college programs in region and the State. Working with Bonnie Adams to develop International Health Care Workers Assistance Centers in San Francisco and Los Angeles with CO-PHYLA.

LA RHORC - Mt. San Antonio College Bonnie Adams Developed Pediatric Critical Care curriculum in conjunction with Joanne Gray for Children's Hospital of LA. Developed Nursing Skills update for Psychiatric Techs in State Hospitals-trained 2100 (75,000 need program in State). Working in collaboration with Jose Ramon Fernandez-Pena to develop and implement International Health Care Workers Assistance Centers in LA and San Francisco. Applying for JDIC Grant to develop Pediatric Nurse Specialty with Children’s LA, Kaiser,Children’s Oakland, Children’s San Diego.

Orange Co. RHORC - Saddleback College Joanne Gray Developed a Critical Care Curriculum for Registered Nurses. DACUM Process job analysis conducted in Sacramento by Linda Zorn and Joanne Gray. Curriculum piloted with 21 nurses in Orange County with ETP funding. Being offered for credit at Saddleback Exported to Hartnell with Industry Driven Collaborative support by Colly Tettlelbach. Developing online database system for clinical placement for Orange County Health Ed Consortia.

San Diego/Imperial RHORC -Southwestern College Marlies Vandenberg Developed OR Tech Program delivered through asynchronous video-conferencing. In negotiations with Vancouver hospital employer to beam OR Tech program there. Working on developing a LVN-RN Step Up program via video-conferencing with San Diego Kaiser simultaneously offered to Ridgeview Community College in Cero Coso CCD.

Southcoast RHORC - Santa Barbara City College Marsha Roberson Developed Acute Care Nurse Assistant Curriculum. Coordinating planning for Paramedic programs in region. Developed CNA Evaluation tool to be used across South Coast Region for consistent performance evaluation of CNA’s. Conducting Internet Based/Distance Education Survey for nurses. Developed and piloted Internet Based/Distance Ed Home Health Care course.
