By: Ryan D. and Cameron R.

Advantages  Easy and relativity inexpensive to transport by existing pipelines  Large percent of supply is produced in the U.S.  Produces the least amount of pollutants of any fossil fuel. Disadvantages  U.S supplies are not endless.  Drilling and extraction can cause environmental damage in sensitive areas.  Increasing costs and supply problems predicted due to increased use

Advantages  Delivery system is established  Presently used as fuel by most vehicles, trains, and planes. Disadvantages  Increases dependence on other countries for supplies.  Largest cause of U.S trade deficit

Advantages  Coal can be transported very easily  Coal is one of the cheapest fossil fuels  Coal is used to make electricity Disadvantages  Coal can make acid rain  Coal can kill plants  Coal produces lots of pollution.

Advantages  It does not produce air pollution or greenhouse gasses  Nuclear energy can be used to make energy Disadvantages  There is a lot of safety issues  If it got stolen, it could be used to make weapons

Advantages  Biomass can reduce landfill space  Biomass does not produce greenhouse gasses  Biomass can be used for transportation Disadvantages  Biomass reduces the nutrients returned to the soil by composting  It’s hard to get biomass supplies in urban areas

Advantages  Solar energy does not contribute to air or water pollution  Once solar is installed, it becomes permanent energy Disadvantages  Solar energy does not work well in cloudy areas  Solar panels cost a lot to put in

Advantages  Wind power does not produce greenhouse gasses  Wind power is not expensive to use Disadvantages  Some people think wind turbines are ugly  Turbines can kill birds if it is in their migration route

Advantages  Hydro does not produce greenhouse gasses  Hydro does not produce air pollution Disadvantages  Hydro can hurt fish  Hydro power can change the natural water flow

 We think that this would be a good resource mix for many reasons. We think so because we have a lot of renewable resources but are still realistic. We tried not do a lot of resources that very badly hurt the environment.
