Summary Los Angeles has been known to be one of the “Sexy Six”, which represents the top coastal markets for real estate investment in the U.S. Since the crash of the housing market in 2008, the low home prices attracted an enormous number of Asian investors, hailing from cities such as Singapore and Hong Kong, where real-estate prices are extremely high by comparison. According to the National Association of Realtors, residential real estate purchases by foreigners is expected to top $68 billion in 2013. This influx of foreign investors has significantly contributed to the recovery of the U.S. real estate market.
