Overview  There are 31 districts that have been affected by the reviews  Reviews dated back to FY 2010  United States Department of Education (ED) has suggested a 5 year corrective process FY 2015 allocations are correct and out to the schools in a timely fashion The repayment of services over the next 4 years  Schedules were determined on a case-by-case basis in consultation with the Office of the Chief Financial Officer  Starting with FY 2016, the repayment will come out of the LEA’s annual Title II-A allocations 3

Reducing Liability  All affected LEAs have worked to reduce their liability where possible Found documented activities where districts included the non-public schools NOT PREVIOUSLY INCLUDED IN ORIGINAL APPLICATION Documented those activities on II-A Fiscal Adjustment Form (provided) Supplied evidence of the non-public schools being included (i.e. correspondence, meeting agendas, budgets, fiscal worksheets) Tallied the proportionate share Subtracted the total deductions from the estimated cost II-A amount owed by the LEA 4

Before Consultation The LEA should:  Create a timeline of events Communicate repayment of services to non-public schools Establish meeting dates for consultation Create plan for school access to services Document deadlines for non-public schools Collect feedback Identify persons responsible for timeline tasks  Begin planning regarding non-public schools Possible uses for allocation Costs of possible uses for allocation Staff that may need to be involved in the process and their roles Communication to non-public schools 6
