January 2005 ORGANIZERS: - EPHA European public health alliance - EEN Environment network - CNVOS Slovenian NGO centre Workshop: “Restoration of NGOs coordination on the field of health protection” Purpose: Encourage cooperation between NGOs that are active on the field of public health

FIRST ASSIGNEMNT: mission statement We are setting up NGOs co-ordination on the field of population health. It’s purpose is to strengthen the populations co-operation and influence on shaping and carrying out politics that influence health of each individual. All interested NGOs, professional and non professional public co-operate at shaping joint views and activities. Coordination represents and enforces interests of population in the dialogue with GOVERNMENT, MINISTRIES, PARLIAMENT AND OTHER PUBLIC INSTITUTIONS IN SLOVENIA and on the international level. First meeting of the project group: 24. February

PURPOSE AND GOALS 1. Introduction of activities that support and promote health with the purpose of improving health of all people that live in Slovenia. 1.Promote rights, co-operate at decisions, improve situation and co- operation of health care users. 3. Ensure co-operation between associations of patients, users, institutions on the field of health care…with the purpose to ensure mutual support and shaping of coalitions.

4. Follow the health care development. 5. Encourage local and state institutions to promote, follow and analyse all decisions in the sense of their influence on health. 6. Establish working advisory partnership.

PRIORITY ASSIGNMENT Suggest to GOUVERNMENT to open PURPOSE FUND for health from which NGOs on the field of health promotion will pump financial means.

WHO RECOMMENDATIONS 1.Form a strategy of investing in health in which a vision “HEALTHY SLOVENIA” will be clearly expressed. 2.Establish MULTI-SECTORIAL BOARD FOR INVESTING IN HEALTH -Open purpose fund for health -Establish state centre for investing in health 1.Decisively support active CO-OPERATION OF NGOs in the programme of investing in health 2.Form a strategy for DEVELOPMENT OF PROFFESIONALS, that will form and execute a strategy of investing in health 3.Form initiatives for HEALTH PROMOTION

MEMBERSHIP Association is open and all NGOs are welcome to join in.
