1JOHN Chapter 05:14-21 WHY PRAYERS DON’T GET ANSWERED I.INTRODUCTION A.Almost finished 1 John.

1. Last teaching “Can I Be Sure That I Am Saved?” a) Concerned about ongoing relationship with Jesus! (1) 1John 5:11-13 b) We can know we have eternal life! (1) Where we pick up this morning.

1. Read this – this is what they hear: a) Must not leave out “according to His will”. (1) The next verse! III.1JOHN 5:15 A.Scripture MUST validate itself!

1. Must see what else God’s word says. a) One child asks to slap the other, what do you tell them? b) 10 year asked to drive the family car? c) Prayed and now glad He said no?

(1) God knows what is best for us! d) What would the Lord would say to our prayer.. (1) Would He hear that one. B.Are you prayers being answered?

(1) Husbands – not loving our wife need to get that in order! (a) Reason prayers are going nowhere. c) Matthew 5:23-24 (1) Loving God and harboring hatred an oxymoron. (2) Romans 12:17-18

d) John 15:7 (1) Having God’s word as part of our life will result in answered prayer! (a) Unanswered prayer could be the result of (i) Sin, hatred, lack of God’s word! (ii) Solved with close relationship with Jesus

IV.1JOHN 5:16-17 A.Distinction between deadly sin and sin not leading to death! 1. Confusion to what John was talking about. a) One camp says physical not spiritual.
