How to get into Medical School There are several things to consider in order to be accepted into medical school. The first thing that you should consider are your grades, remember not because you have outstanding grades it means you will be accepted to any medical school but it is definitely something you want in your favor. Social service is another thing considered very important, you have to be a person who is willing to help others not just to be accepted but for your own will. Research programs or any volunteering you do in hospitals or in the medical area will definitely help your admissions, it will help you and you will also make new connections that your might need in the future. The MCAT is the test you will need to take before getting admitted in any University and it is very important to have a high score in order to be on top of the list of admissions. In order to get admitted you will have an interview with the University you are interested in and it will not be an easy one

Medical school of the day:  Emory School of medicine : Emory University School of Medicine, a component of Emory’s Robert W. Woodruff Health Sciences Center, is ranked among the nation’s institutions for biomedical education and research

Study abroad for Pre-Med In Saint Mary’s University there are a lot of opportunities for students to study abroad. For pre-med students the best option would be to study abroad in summer, there is opportunities in many places in Europe, South America and other places in the U.S. There is also opportunities to study abroad for the Fall and Spring semester but it would be more complicated for the pre-med students since the biology courses might not be the same but if you want to go anyway there is no problem you can get ahead on nonmajor courses and catch up with the biology courses once you are back. It is a great opportunity to take a trip and know many other beautiful cultures.

Clinical Volunteering Remember there are many thing you need to take into consideration to get into medical school and clinical volunteering is one of them. There are many ways to volunteer in a health area of course you will not be allowed to do much, but as simple as watching will help you a lot to learn how to interact with pacients and how professionals do their job. St. Mary’s University has a way of helping students get a volunteer job in health centers you can just contact Rebecca Rutledge in the Chaminade Tower and she will be able to assist you to get a shadowing or maybe a research volunteering job in the medical field.

ESCAPES FROM BIOLOGY!!!   I am a pre-med student and I understand how stressful it can be sometimes with so many work, exams, readings and everything just keeps adding up. But in order to maintain yourself healthy, and both mentally and physically ready to do good you need to escape from all the stress in order to continue the next the or some time after. Our body has the need to rest from so much stress so you have to find ways to escape from biology in order to relax yourself and try to enjoy your life as well. Some common ways of escaping are, going to the gym even though it may tire your body, it will relax your mind and give you something else to think about which will help you mentally and also stay fit given that college is a stage that many students tend to loose their shape. Another way to escape is to go out with friends which will also help you forget about your stress, you will have some fun, laugh and enjoy your life because what is the purpose of life if you are not happy. There are many ways to escape from biology just find something you enjoy doing, a hobby or something that relaxes you and do it any time you are feeling extremely stressed. Remember that school even though it is one of the most important things in life you should find a balance and try to be happy.
