National Intellectual Property Rights Coordination Center IPR Center’s Focus The IPR Center is a collaborative effort by U.S. Government agencies to stop intellectual property theft that threatens the U.S. economy, endangers the public’s health and safety, and threatens the war fighter. The IPR Center uses a three-pronged approach of interdiction, investigation, and outreach and training to combat IP theft.

November 2010: Three defendants indicted and subsequently pled guilty for conspiracy to force labor and conspiracy to distribute pirated CDs and DVDs. Seven Mexican National victims forced to pay off smuggling debts by selling pirated and counterfeited CDs and DVDs in apartment complexes in and around Houston. Defendants abused the aliens both physically and verbally.
