Importance or Predicate Nouns o Without Predicate nouns, our daily grammar would be very useless and also uneducated o People use Predicate Nouns everyday when speaking to one another without even realizing it. o It makes understanding what others are saying much easier for everyone.

 A Predicate noun is also called a-  predicate nominative.  Completer  Compliment Because it completes the verb. Know the Basics.

What is a Predicate noun?  A predicate noun is a single noun or a noun phrase that renames the subject of a sentence and follows a form of the verb “to be” or another linking verb.

Main Examples  Mr. Smith is a teacher. ( Mr. Smith is the subject and teacher is the predicate noun.)  Mrs. Smith will be governor (Mrs. Smith is the subject and the predicate noun is governor)

How to find a Predicate Noun. 1. Identify the subject in the sentence 2. Identify the verb of the sentence 3. Find the predicate nominative by locating the noun that comes after the linking verb.
