REVIEW ON GRAMMAR AND COMPOSITION SKILLS

FORM CLASSES OR CONTENT WORDS These words can be inflected. They have special forms— signals or characteristics of position and form, such as endings and the like which mark them off one from another.

FORM CLASSES OR CONTENT WORDS They are also called content words because they are used for things, actions, or qualities.

FORM CLASSES OR CONTENT WORDS These are NOUNS, VERBS, ADJECTIVES, and ADVERBS.

FUNCTION OR STRUCTURE WORDS These are words whose forms or spellings do not change. They have no meaning by themselves but they are used in utterances to signal grammatical relationship.

FUNCTION OR STRUCTURE WORDS These words are also called structure words because they tie up the four main form classes to give pattern or structure to the English language.

FUNCTION OR STRUCTURE WORDS These are PRONOUNS, PREPOSITIONS, CONJUNCTIONS, INTERJECTIONS, DETERMINERS, NUMERALS, and AUXILIARIES.

Discuss the following terms briefly but precisely: Nouns Number of Nouns Gender of Nouns Kinds of Nouns

Form small groups composed of five members each. A word will be posted on the board. Each group will form as many words as they can by unscrambling the letters of the given word. The group with the most number of unique words formed will be declared winner. You are given only three minutes for this activity.
