Global Strategies and Vision of the Publishing Industry in Asia
Beyond the boundaries of Asia Exchanging the expertise and experience
Global Strategies and Vision of the Publishing Industry in Asia More focus on Electronic versions Product quality standards at competitive price range Specialization Benchmarking Enhancing the Capabilities of Editors in the region
Global Strategies and Vision of the Publishing Industry in Asia Asian Book Search Engine By whom ?? Publishers Associations ? By APPA ? By Asian publishers collective as a private venture?
Enhancing the Capabilities of Editors in the region It is in the best interests of regional publishers to enhance the capacity of their editors by constituting some sort of forum where they could meet, train and exchange ideas.
Editors in the region lack language skills, especially in English, to edit works that could meet international requirements. Good editors are few and come with a price. Enhancing the Capabilities of Editors in the region
As such we propose to synergize our efforts towards upgrading and enhancing the skills of editors.
Among the topics that could be dealt with in these fora are upgrading of language skills to meet a variety of editing requirements including in the areas of science, arts, business and literature. Enhancing the Capabilities of Editors in the region
Another area in which editors need to be trained is in IT proficiency. Many are the editors who lack or do not make proper use of this important tool that could enhance their abilities. Working online, verifying or cross-checking information or particular usages all come within this area. Enhancing the Capabilities of Editors in the region
