The Battle of Monterrey:
C) War! In February 1847, Santa Anna was defeated by a smaller army lead by Taylor at the bloody battle of Buena Vista. The American army has achieved all of President Polk’s pre-war goals. Fueled by Manifest Destiny Polk wanted more General Scott and the U.S. Navy attacked Veracruz Then marches to Mexico City and captures it in March 1847.
