Ausiàs was a poet and a medieval Valencian knight. He came from a noble family. He was one of the most important poets of the Golden Valencian Age. His poetry in Catalan, had a significant impact on Spanish poetry of the S. XVI-XVIII His father was a great squire and pageboy of the king and therefore Ausias had secured a place there when he was old. And thus it happened, he participated in two expeditions (Sardinia and Tunisia) Regarding Ausias’ love life, he had two women but no children with them, however he had children with a Moorish slave
The uniqueness of his work is a reflection of the social changes in Valencia. He was the most prominent poet of medieval times (Valencia). He composed a total of 128 poems. They are divided into three groups: love poetry (with signal or not), poetry reflection (spiritual songs, songs of death) and moral songs He is best known for his love poems but their songs are also moral high quality
