Presentation transcript:

 a non-profit organization.  1.4 million non-profit are thriving in the U.S.  Non-profit organizations employ 10.5 million people in the US.  Nonprofit employment saw a cumulative increase of 5% between 2007 and 2010.

 gives teenagers a place to go have fun and hang out with friends.  promotes services such as topics in health, afterschool care, homelessness, & self esteem.  We will gain government funds & grants to help us develop The Teen Spot.

 The U.S. Department of Health and Human Services (HHS) has awarded $2 million in grants to the national office of the YMCA. 

 We are a place where teens are able to play sports, finish homework, have fun, and are able to be to get away from stressful times at home.  27.3% of family's in Baden have single moms.

 On North Broadway, the area near the Hardee’s and Mine’s Mechanic Shop  This project will cost about 17.8 million comparing to the O’Fallon Park YMCA 18.1 million.  Why this area? This area is near many houses in which 49.7% of the households are family households.

 Gym  Pool/Water Park  Tennis Court  racquetball room/ Volleyball room  2 party rooms  Locker rooms  Workout rooms

 Bathrooms  Offices  Arcade  Lobby with tables  Café  Counseling rooms  Quiet study rooms

 Many cameras  A few security guards  And a alarm system for when its not open  A Security system will be between $100 and $200 a month

 Our focus for The Teen Spot is to create a positive area for these urban teenagers to hang out.  Like the O’Fallon YMCA, our development will be a great asset to the neighborhood with “its splashy suburban-style” offerings.  The Teen Spot is vital to the metropolitan area due to Baden’s population being 49.7% of family households.

 For this development, we will hire staff that contain mostly educated employees such as business manager, 18 year old staff members, trainers, life guards, tutors, and councilors.  I advise them to have patience, be friendly, and outgoing.

 We will make money by the people paying a reasonable monthly/ yearly membership and government funds and aid.  Despite the O’ Fallon YMCA with a $44 membership, our will be only $30 for a monthly membership.  Financial Aid will always be an option  Also we will collect the money from our cafe that provides healthy alternatives to unhealthy fast food choices.  We will have a fundraiser every 2 month for the Teen Spot. We will use ideas from the young teens to create these fundraisers.

 The Teen Spot will impact young teen life's because it gives them some where positive to hangout instead of hanging out in the streets where trouble lurks. Baden’s crime rate is 25% higher than St. Louis which is 193% higher than Missouri.  This will impact the parents because they know that there children are some where safe where they are supervised.

 Our development is similar to the new YMCA Recreational Center built in St. Louis’s very own O’Fallon park  This rec center’s primary purpose is to promote youth development, healthy living, and social responsibility  The YMCA is funded by two sources. The first is government grants and aid. The second way is through membership dues and fees.
