Factories surround Beijing and emit large amounts of soot and carbon. Ozone, a colorless gas and critical pollutant arising in large part from car exhaust and factory emissions, regularly goes unmeasured in Beijing. Air Pollution in China and India

Indoor fires for cooking releases a large amount of carbon dioxide and soot into the atmosphere, causing lingering haze pollution and increasing mortality rates across the region.

Pollution can form brown clouds which reduce rainfall and temperatures. Asian Brown Cloud

Air Pollution in China The problem of air pollution in China has to be taken seriously and something is required to be done at once in order to stop the soaring death toll connected to poor air quality. Also, the polluted surroundings in China lead to gases from the atmosphere that go way beyond the boundaries of China. Each year there are thousands of needless and premature deaths linked to the air pollution.pollution When the Olympic Committee decided to Have the 2008 Summer Games in China, One of the concerns among the Athletes was the poor air quality.

Sixteen of China's cities have been found to have the most polluted air on Earth. The air pollution in Beijing is the worst of all the cities in China. Air pollution is one of the many environmental side effects of the 2.1 billion tons of coal produced and burned in China last year. Air pollution has led to significant health problems for the Chinese. A study by a Chinese research institute found that 400,000 premature deaths are caused every year by diseases linked to air pollution. China's Ministry of Science and Technology reports that 50,000 newborn babies are killed by air pollution a year.

Beijing already suffers traffic congestion so severe that cars sometimes idle on the freeways for hours, emitting tons of carbon based pollutants and producing smog.

When Beijing, China was awarded the 2008 Olympic Games, what was a major environmental concern for athletes?

Which contributes to air pollution in China? A.The shrinking population B.Use of coal-burning power plants for energy C.The gradual drop in the number of new factories D.Fewer cars and trucks on the roads
